Anne is preparing to embark on her biggest challenge yet… A seven day trip hiking up, and cycling between, the three peaks – Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis.
Anne has been training hard for the trip in September, which will see her, along with some family members, walk the 23 miles of the peaks and cycle a total of 464 miles in between, in aid of raising money for charity.
The team of six, including a support driver, have chosen to support Diabetes UK, a charity close to the hearts of those taking part.
The schedule is gruelling, so look out for regular updates from Anne along the way!
Day 1: Climb Snowdon (7 miles; 723 metres of ascent) followed by 75-mile bike ride to Liverpool.
Day 2: Cycle 90 miles to Haverthwaite. This day is Anne’s birthday, so the team will break for lunch in Morecambe for a joint celebration with Anne’s grandmother – whose 100th birthday is two days later!
Day 3: Cycle 31 miles to Wasdale Head and then climb Scafell Pike (6 miles; 989 metres of ascent).
Day 4: Cycle 84 miles to Ecclefechan
Day 5: Cycle 94 miles to Dumbarton
Day 6: Cycle 90 miles from Loch Lomond to Fort William
Day 7: Climb Ben Nevis, the highest of the three peaks (10.5 miles; 1352 metres of ascent).
