Following Baroness Neville-Rolfe’s move to the Treasury, Jess Norman has confirmed that he has taken on the full energy brief at the department of business, energy and industrial strategy (BEIS).

Since 2010, Norman served as the MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire and has been working as a parliamentary under-secretary of the state at the department after being appointed to the post last July.

His responsibilities will now include oil and gas, nuclear power, energy efficiency, low-carbon generation, heat and wholesale markets. His previous role as under-secretary of state at BEIS has now been filled Lord Prior of Brampton.
