New research shows that more than 7 in 10 decision makers (72%) within 100 SMEs want more commitment to renewable energy from their energy suppliers.
The survey from Haven Power was released on 10th October and revealed that renewable energy placed third, just behind price and service quality when it came to considering switching their business energy provider. 22% of SMEs (just over 1 in 5) told Haven if they could purchase a 100% clean energy product they would stay late at work.
Haven Power chief executive Jonathan Kini said: “SMEs want more from their supplier and a commitment to renewable energy is one of the demands they are pushing for. This suggests there is some fundamental change happening, and we in the energy sector need to respond to it by not only helping SMEs reduce their energy usage but also being able to supply 100% renewable energy.”
