A new report by PwC, on behalf of Total Gas and Power (TGP) has concluded that half of business energy users believe supplier pricing isn’t transparent enough.
The research—reported by Energy Live News on 12 July—also found that 44% of businesses surveyed had a flexible supply contract and that 30% of those didn’t know, or understand all of the pricing elements that make up their residual element. The survey also found that 28% of businesses view fluctuations in their energy costs as their biggest challenge over the next five years.
Chris Billing, director of major business at TGP, said: “It is clear that large UK businesses are concerned about energy prices going forward, however, energy buyers also need to fully understand what they are being charged for by their supplier. It’s time for suppliers to be transparent with their customers and come clean about what they are being invoiced for.”
