Supplier SSE announced on 27 April that it had begun offering a 100% renewable non-domestic electricity tariff, called SSE Green.
The tariff is aimed at helping large industrial and commercial operations manage their greenhouse gas emissions. SSE will supply renewable energy matched to Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origins (REGOs), certifying that the purchased electricity has been generated exclusively through a portfolio of wind and hydro assets.
Director of business energy at SSE Terry Tippell said: “We are delighted to offer this new contract to business customers, which allows them to demonstrate their commitment to renewable and sustainable goals. Equally, large organisations can benefit greatly by being able to report zero emissions for their purchased electricity.”
