National Grid has published its annual update on how it intends to plan and operate the gas transmission system over the next 10 years.

Published on 30 November, the company’s latest Ten Year Statement focused on four key themes: how customers want to use the system, how supply and demand patterns could change, how changes in legislation may affect the system, and how asset health will affect system development.

The company said that this year’s document built upon feedback received over the past year by making the need case for future capability requirements much clearer, and that it had been aligned with the company’s Network Development Process to provide increased transparency around internal processes and decision-making.
